SE 30th & Sunset Creek Culvert Replacement, City of Bellevue
This project’s goals are to make stream channel improvements to promote sediment transport through Sunset Creek, Richards Creek, and East Creek, reduce structural flooding of nearby businesses, restore stream flow conveyance capacity, and improve fish passage and instream habitat. The existing 36-inch corrugated metal pipe culvert running under SE 30th Street was replaced by an inverted three-sided box culvert with a concrete lid. The design also included a stream bypass system, sluice gate, and sedimentation trap with removable lid. CivilTech also provided utility relocation coordination with franchise and public utility owners to prepare relocation plans for affected utilities. This structure was designed in accordance with AASHTO LRFD standards.
